A Guide to The Lord's Prayer
Christian prayer is a privilege and responsibility:
personal and corporate, simple and sincere, with agreement and
gratitude, to God's glory and in Jesus' name, now and forever. Amen.
 

 

THE TUNE IN STEP
Our Father which art in heaven hallowed be Thy name.
God's Praise / Our Identity.

 
  1. Praise God for who He is (Psalm 145)
  2. Praise God for What He has done in Scripture and in our lives
    (James 1:17)
  3. Pray confidently in Jesus' Name (Hebrews 7:25)
  4. Pray to God as Our Heavenly Father (Matthew 7:7-1
 

 

THE CONNECT UP STEP
Thy Kingdom come; Thy Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
God's Priorities / Our Purpose.

  1. Pray for God's Kingdom to come in your life,
    your family, our church, and our nation. (2 chron. 7:14)
  2. Submit and fit into God's will and leadership (Romans 12:1)
  3. Be persistent (Luke 18:1)
  4. Keep the big picture. (Revelation 21:1-5)
 

 

THE ASK FOR STEP
Give us this Day our daily Bread; and Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
God's Provisions / Our Needs.

 
  1. Specific Concerns and Intercessions (Phillipians 4:4-7)
  2. Wisdom (James 1:5)
  3. Healing and Health (3 John 2)
  4. Confession and Cleansing (1 John 1:9)
  5. Strength ( Phillipians 4:13)
  6. Ask in Jesus' Name (John 14:13)
 

 

THE LET GO STEP
Lead us not into temptation; but Deliver us from the evil one.
God's Protection / Our Salvation.
 
  1. Resist temptation (James 4:7)
  2. Let the light of Jesus shine into darkness (John 1:5)
  3. Pray for the struggles of others (Ephesians 6:18)
  4. Commit our ways to the Lord (Proverbs16:3)
  5. Affirm faith in Jesus as Savior (1 Corinthians 15:57)
  6. Be watchful (Luke 22:40)
  7. Overcome self-defeating behaviors (1 John 4:4)
 

 

THE CAN DO STEP
For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever! Amen.
God's Procurement / Our Victory.

 
  1. Thank God for sending Jesus (John 3:16)
  2. Praise Jesus for His Kingly Reign (Hebrews 4:16)
  3. Be filled with the Power of His Spirit (Acts 1:8)
  4. Determine you will reflect Christ's Glory (John 17:22)
  5. Say "Amen"..."so be it" (2 Corinthians 1:20)
